Architectural Projects > Monarch Migration

A site-specific commission in Coconut Grove, this mural depicts the migration of the Monarch butterfly between Mexico, Cuba, and the United States. The subject matter was chosen in consultation with the client and emphasizes the native ecosystem around the mangrove islands. The incorporation of stained glass painting (the butterflies) and ceramics (the turtle shell and corals) is thus far unique in my designs. Christopher Rodriguez was an indispensable assistant and collaborator in this project.
